Tree Removal and Felling in Essex, Hertfordshire and London
Dead, dying, dangerous, or simply in the wrong place. We take trees down safely, clear every branch and log away, and can grind out the stump afterwards.
Felled in one, or taken down in sections
Where there is open ground to drop a tree into, it can be felled in one piece. In most gardens there is not: there is a house, a fence, a shed or a greenhouse in the way. Then a climber takes the tree down from the top, piece by piece, lowering the heavier sections on ropes so nothing lands where it should not. We decide which on the visit.
Everything taken away
Branches go through the chipper, the trunk is cut into rounds and logs, and the lot is taken away. Customers mention it in nearly every review: the garden is left clean and tidy, not covered in sawdust and twigs. If you would like to keep the logs for a wood burner, just say.
When a tree should come down
Dead and dying trees, trees with large splits or fungus at the base, trees leaning towards a house, and trees that have simply outgrown a small garden. Not every problem tree needs removing, though. Sometimes a reduction or a crown lift solves it and the tree can stay. We will tell you honestly which yours needs.
Check before you fell
If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order, or you are in a conservation area, the council has to be told or asked before work starts. Most garden trees are not protected, but it is always worth checking with your local council first. We can advise you on what to look for.

Common questions about tree removal & felling
How much does it cost to remove a tree?
It depends on the size of the tree, how easy it is to reach, what is underneath it, and whether it can be felled in one or has to come down in sections. We come and look for free and give you a clear price for the whole job, including taking everything away.
Do I need permission to remove a tree?
If the tree has a Tree Preservation Order, or you are in a conservation area, the council has to be told or asked before work starts. Most garden trees are not protected, but it is always worth checking with your local council first. We can advise you on what to look for.
Will you remove the stump too?
We can. The stump is cut as low as possible as standard, and it can be ground out below ground level on the same visit so the area can be turfed or planted.
Can I keep the logs?
Yes, just tell us on the day and we will cut them to a size you can handle and stack them where you want. Otherwise everything is taken away.
